BOSTON 鈥 The (NEMSMF) is hosting an EMS Service of Remembrance during National EMS Week. The Foundation encourages all members of the EMS community to participate in the May 23 event in Boston.

At the service EMS providers, along with dignitaries and EMS leaders from across the nation, will remember those we have lost in the line of duty at one of Boston鈥檚 most historic landmarks - The Great Hall in Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Acclaimed Irish tenor Ronan Tynan will perform during the service which begins at 1 p.m.

Immediately following the service, attendees over age 21 are invited to a reception at the historic Bell in Hand Tavern. Founded by Jimmy Wilson, Boston鈥檚 last town crier, in 1795 the tavern is known as 鈥淎merica鈥檚 Oldest Tavern.鈥

Organizations with honor guards or ceremonial units interested in participating in this very special event should contact NEMSMF Treasurer Tony O鈥橞rien by email at tony@emsmemorial.com. The deadline for honor guard sign up is 5 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 8th.

NEMSMF exists to design, build and maintain a permanent EMS memorial in Washington DC or its environs, to honor and recognize the commitment, service and sacrifice of the men and women of EMS across our nation, who have made the ultimate sacrifice and for those who continue to serve.
