In this week鈥檚 Quick Clip, co-hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson discuss six responders who were suspended pending an investigation after on a woman at a Maplewood, Minn. nursing home.

The woman鈥檚 husband asked medics to stop life saving efforts and they complied without seeing a do not resuscitate order.

鈥淚 would hate to be put into that position, but I鈥檓 not quite sure I would have handled it that way,鈥 Grayson said.

Cebollero agreed, saying EMTs operate under a medical director鈥檚 protocols and and don鈥檛 have a right to say 鈥業 will respect your wishes.鈥

鈥淲e live by the code that we need to see the DNR,鈥 Cebollero said.

He said the medics鈥 hearts were in the right place by wanting to follow the family鈥檚 wishes, but EMS providers don鈥檛 have the right to make that decision.

They also questioned the merit of an internal investigation, saying it shouldn鈥檛 be made into a criminal matter, and called it a 鈥渓ow class move鈥 by the nursing home to notify police.
