SANDY SPRINGS, S.C. 鈥 The (CAMTS) Board of Directors has announced Jan Eichel as the new executive director, succeeding founder Eileen Frazer, who will retire at year鈥檚 end, after founding CAMTS in 1990.
Board Chair Dr. Frank Guyette stated in a press release that Jan Eichel was unanimously selected after a nationwide search.
鈥淎mong the talented people we interviewed, Jan Eichel clearly rose to the top on the strength of her vision, energy, and new ideas for medical transport safety certification,鈥 Guyette said. 鈥淪he recognizes the various ways the accreditation process might serve our customers even more effectively in the future. We believe she will build on what is best about CAMTS while leading the organization into new eras of innovation and customer service.鈥
With over 35 years in the transport industry as a flight nurse, clinical director, and educator at regional and national levels, Eichel was honored in 2023 as a Fellow of the Academy of Air & Surface Transport Nurses for her profound impact on critical care transport.
鈥淛an understands this industry better than almost anyone, and I know she will bring strong and visionary leadership to CAMTS,鈥 Fraz said. 鈥淪he will not only nurture what we have built over the years, but she will bring new ideas to serve our customers and, ultimately, ensure the safety of patients and medical staff.鈥
