ROCHESTER, Minn. 鈥� Felony charges were filed Wednesday against a Minnesota woman who was arrested in February for allegedly assaulting an EMS provider after a crash.
Tonia Kruger, 51, is charged with 3rd-degree and 4th-degree assault, both felonies, as well as two counts of DWI in relation to the Feb. 9 incident, .
On the day of the incident, Kruger鈥檚 vehicle crashed, rolling over and leaving her trapped. After being extricated, Kruger allegedly became belligerent with the Chatfield Ambulance crewmembers who were treating her, according to a report by an Olmsted County Sheriff鈥檚 deputy.
The deputy wrote that he witnessed Kruger spit on one of the crewmembers and say that she was 鈥済oing to get a lawyer鈥� and 鈥渒ill you all,鈥� according to KROC.
One of the crewmembers later told the deputy that Kruger had kicked her in the chest, which caused her to fall back and strike her head on the interior wall of the ambulance, according to the report. The crewmember was later diagnosed with a moderate concussion.
Other witnesses to the incident told authorities they saw Kruger driving erratically for more than a mile before the crash. Test results recently received by the sheriff鈥檚 office showed that Kruger鈥檚 BAC was .179 on the day of her arrest, officials said.
Court records show Kruger has two prior convictions for DWI within the last 10 years.
