HOUSTON — In a bystander’s video, Houston first responders are seen rescuing a newborn baby boy from inside a trash-filled dumpster.

An apartment manager reported that a taco truck employee gave birth in the food truck and then discarded the baby in the dumpster on July 21 before returning to clean the truck, reported.

Police reported that a passerby heard a baby crying from a dumpster and called for help. An EMS crew found the baby alive and alert inside a bag in the dumpster.

Police said the baby boy was taken to the hospital, found to be in good health, and is now with Child Protective Services. Authorities are investigating who abandoned him.
