LANCASTER, S.C. — Firefighters rescued an injured worker from a 92-foot water tower under construction in Indian Land Tuesday.
Crews from Indian Land Fire District, along with firefighters from and Pineville N.C., used a rope system to lower the worker from the top of the tower, officials said. The worker had been caught in safety netting at the top of the tower before 5 p.m., Indian Land fire officials said on their .
The tower on Harrisburg Road is south of the North Carolina state line in the panhandle of Lancaster County.
Officials had the person lowered to the ground after 6 p.m. The name of the worker and the extent of ithe njuries has not been released.
