Prehospital readiness project allows fire, EMS agencies to evaluate their pediatric care

Emergency Medical Service for Children Program offers agencies to conduct an in-depth assessment of their pediatric readiness

AUSTIN, Texas 鈥 The is providing complimentary tools and resources to assist EMS and fire-rescue agencies in preparing for pediatric emergencies.

This initiative includes a comprehensive online assessment starting on May 1. The evaluation covers seven categories with detailed questions providing each agency a clear overview of their current pediatric preparedness and highlighting areas that need enhancement.

The assessment, which takes about 30 minutes to complete, will culminate in a detailed report for participants outlining any deficiencies and providing benchmarking data. Agencies have until July 31 to finish this assessment.
