SALT LAKE CITY 鈥 The (NEMSIS) Technical Assistance Center released the 2023 Public-Release Research Dataset, the largest dataset of U.S. emergency medical service activations available to the public.
The 2023 Public-Release Research Dataset, part of the National EMS Database, includes data from 54,190,579 EMS activations provided by 14,369 agencies across 54 U.S. states and territories, . Managed by NEMSIS, this dataset adheres to national standards for collecting patient care information following emergency 911 medical calls.

The National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS) is a national database and health information exchange that collects EMS data from states and territories. It sets the standard for documenting patient care information from emergency 911 medical calls. NEMSIS aims to enhance patient care by standardizing and using EMS data at local, state, and national levels. It is managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration鈥檚 Office of EMS.
